To my mind there were two main interesting points in this work. A good one and a worst one.

I did not really enjoy to be forced to fill my blog each week. Maybe that should have been more free and I am sure that I would have done that well, just because I would have been more motivated as it would have been my decision to work about “trips, dream and advertising”.

But on an other side, many things were very interesting. Like for example looking for original advertising, trying to make people think about a topic we enjoy, analysing the way that travel agencies chose to promote a destination etc.

That was also pleasant to discover how to make a blog, how to exchange mind with our classmates.

Concerning my blog, I just wanted to conclude saying that if you decide to go abroad, don’t forget that people there live differently, with an other culture and to my mind, that is the best we can discover from an other population. That is maybe what we could called “the dream of our trips”! And even if travel agencies have mostly a different way of thinking and prefer to endorse something else on their ads, that is a fundamental aspect we don’t have to forget.

I found this picture really funny.

I wanted to show you an other side of what we could called “dreaming holydays”!!!

With this picture, all our certainties are completely different! All we could think about a dreaming trip to thailand is changed, just because of this ad… You can find many many many advertising to give you the will to discover this part of the world but I am not really sure that after seeing this picture you will immediately buy a ticket for bangkok!!!
The visual is really incredible in our western society. No one travel agency could promote a trip within this kind of picture. But on the local market, that is an example of what you can find there.

Do you still want a foot massage or a thai massage? Do you still think that thailand can be came down to beaches, sun and luxury hotels?

This picture might help you to think about a “real” trip abroad. We must be aware that all these places, looking like paradises are not just like we can see on advertising. And even if it is a dream for most of us to discover these places, people living there have to face to different problem and we have to take it into account if we don’t want to be disappointed by any travel we could be able to do.

To my mind, that is a question of know- how and good manners. Every country and population have their own culture and that is necessary to respect it when you decide to go abroad…

I get a little problem… I don’t manage to find other ideas to fill my blog. I have asking you many times what kind of ad or travel you would have like I speak about but no one has answered and now I don’t have ideas anymore.

I don’t find new original pictures or ads on the Internet so could you please help me???

the slogan is totaly different that what we can see on over ads.

 But before to speak about the slogan, it seems important to explain what the visual looks like and what is the aim of this ad made by Eurostar.

The visual is very simple, you can see on one side a famous monument from Paris ( La Tour Eiffel) and on the other side, the most famous londoner place, The Big Ben.

If you are just looking at the visual, you can easily understand why does that have been made. Obviously to promote the Eurostar, linking Paris to London in less than 3 hours.

But to my mind, the amazing point we have to study there should be the slogan. It is writen for one part in english and for the other one, in french. I have never saw an other ad with this kind of particularity. And that is completely understandable that this slogan makes all the originality of the ad:

“Start in downtown London and in 3heures, arrivez au centre de Paris”

That suggest desire and dream in the consumers’ mind. 3 hours, that is really fast, and moreover, everything seems to be easy thanks to the advertisement. It is almost as if beeing bilingual could be as easy as to cross the sea and arrive in Paris in 3 hours.

Who doesn’t dream about that? Who doesn’t dream about so much easiness, about so much rapidity in our social and contemporary way of life???

In fact, the idea was to create a new way for purchasers to buy yoghurts and at the same time to protect the environment.

How is it possible? And why such an idea?

I will tell you… When you buy yoghurts, by 4,6 8 etc, there is often one staying in the back of the fridge and spoiling. you don’t like banana? you don’t like prune? Doesn’t matter anymore!!!

With the new process I would like to introduce in my survey, no waste anymore! You will be able to buy it one by one, if you want 3 or 7 yoghurts, doesn’t matter, you will find it in hypermarket and not only in self discount!

And concerning the environment, we will take part to its protection. Indeed, there won’t be all the cardboard and plastic packaging you normally get!

Currently, the most of people who have answered to my survey are in favour of this project. It deals mostly with students, females, between 15 and 25. And what they have said reveals that this way of purchasing could be really useful for the environment. To my mind, it is because almost everybody is aware of this problem and would like to help for resolve that in a near future. And that is why I have suggested this idea.

In my opinion, it is maybe a little step in this direction but we have to begin somewhere. And for me, it might begin with our purchase. Too many people buy something they will waste and throw in the garbage with all packagings.

One of the solutions could be mine, products sold one buy one and for which people could chose the taste!!! With this way, everybody might be satisfied: Nature and purchasers’ taste buds….

I will try to analyse an advertising, made by an unspecified travel agency. The first goal of this ad is to endorse some different states in the USA according to each specificities of these one.

The first part, in green concerns people who are looking for cow boys’ atmosphere. Boston.com Travel has jsut on solution, going to Vegas. The copy is really funny, with some familar words, like baby etc. The aim of this ad might be to be close to consumers and tourists. And I think that it works.

Concernig people who would like to go to Miami Beach, this ad tries to associates this category of tourists and exotic aspects of this place, like food but we can imagine the ad is also speaking about beaches, beautiful women etc.

And that spirit goes on all along this advertising.

That is why I would like to analyse that. I foung that really amazing. No real slogan, no real play on words, nothing really exciting but in fact this is completely original. Colors are appealing, attractive and cheerful. The visual targets everyone, all kind of social category, men, women, young people or elder one. So I think this ad successful. Everyone will be concerned, the visual is really cool, the copy really up- to – date. So how could it be a failure???

And what about you? Would you be attracted by this kind of advertising? If you wanted to travel, would you use this agency?

Let’s see which kind of dreaming holidays travel agencies offer to consummers by advertising.

Generally, travel agencies try to make you buy extravagant holidays in wonderful hotels,mostly 4 or 5 *. Prices are really high (about 1500 or 2000€ for a week) and the benefits are tremendous.

But I am not sure that the most essential when you are travelling abroad is the hotel. Ok it is important but when you decide to go to discover mauritius, it is stupid to think that the most beautiful there are the hotels. You rellay have to discover the landscapes. All these one I have put in picture on my last post.

For example, Chamarel:

You won’t find that in an other place, whereever in the world! How can you imagine to see a so little place with so much colors on the ground? 7 different colors of brown… So nice. And if you are looking around, you will see a high waterfall, some wonderful trees like baobab etc. 

But to find that place, you have to know some mauritian people ready to make you discover the “real” mauritius. Travel agencies forget to sell this kind of place within their ads.  I think it is a pity.

If you decide to go there, don’t forget to go out of your hotel to discover all these lovely places. Mauritius is not only made of hotels and beaches. There is an incredible culture, good stuffs to eat, different people to meet.

It has been the most beautiful and amazing trip I have ever made in my life and I am waiting for the day I will be able to go there again!

As you can see, it is really easy to promote a trip in Mauritius. Manyh tourists decide each year to discover this kindly island. And what about you?

 So I am Mathilde, student in a business school, Le Havre, France. I am about 23 and I come from Tours. With my family, we have travelled a bit around the world and I found all these trips really exceptionnal. It is so advantageous to discover how people can live so far away from you, to discover the diversity of landscapes you can find all over the world, to discover new languages, new cultures, new religions etc.
